a series of curated lists, musings, and monthly round ups. stay and yap a while!
#2
okay new design alert!! how cute is this? thought this would be a fun way to present my monthly recaps and will elaborate further in the post. let me know what you think!
a mixed bag this month. started off strong - consistently in the gym and going on walks, daily journaling, and then was hit with the unfortunate news that my company was doing a round of layoffs, and my position was eliminated. i’ve taken a beat to freak out, recharge, revamp my resume, and think about my next steps. there’s a lot of uncertainty and instability moving forward, so i’m doing what i can that’s within my control and that’s literally all i can do. in solidarity with those who are in similar positions due to the actions of this godforsaken admin.
faves from march
le baume
my mom bought this for me on a whim so i have dry skin. i love the subtle lemon smell and i’ve been using it on my lips and hands. it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy and i also just love the packaging - trés chic.
the wine is ok
an artist i found on tiktok and i love the vibe. it’s warm, sensual, smoke a cigarette in a sultry dress, feels like a dark red, deep clay. swishy. equally nice in the background or to close your eyes, immerse, and enjoy.
Blue Eye Samauri
this was genuinely one of the most beautiful shows i’ve ever seen. the colors were rich and vibrant - captivating. the story follows Mizu on her path of revenge against those have wronged her. she’s been outcasted in the edo-period of japan, and as a woman, she obviously is not traditionally allowed to train. we watch her become an incredibly skilled killer but along her journey various encounters makes her bloodthirst more complicated. i cannot wait for season 3.
homemade salad kits
okay this is not groundbreaking news at all, but i just started making them and it really has been a game-changer. salad kits are expensive and this way it’s cheaper and my perfect salad. i always like having salads but then am honestly usually too lazy to chop everything up every day, but now i just have to scoop some ready to go salad into a bowl and add the dressing. idk why i didn’t start doing this earlier lol.
thoughts and musing
i used to be a notion girly, but have unintentionally migrated over to mostly analog. while i still have my notion and use it as like a digital catch all, i have been loving my analog set up. currently using my leuchterm for morning pages, a moleskine for mostly work/personal admin planning, and a hobonichi weeks for tracking things, daily highlights, and other small notes - but very strictly not work. although i have a bit more freetime these days, and less deadlines to track (i was a project manager) this set up was perfect. i’m still trying to keep a bit of structure so i don’t spiral and get depressed lol, so i like to write out my days to hold myself accountable for applying to jobs, finishing my professional development certificates, writing for my substack, reading, and working out. although “busy” looks a bit different these days, for my sanity, i need to check off my daily tasks lol
i’ve also been on a high-fantasy kick this month - rewatched lord of the rings and the hobbit movies (extended versions ofc), rewatched clash of the titans - i’m a fantasy gal what can i say! binging youtube videos further explaining/exploring the lore of lotr, game of thrones, skyrim lol. sometimes after watching movies, shows, listening to music that i just enjoy so much, it’s hard to switch to another genre after. im only in the mood for dragons and elves! i finally started reading game of thrones and i have been LOVING IT!
i hope your march was good, and if not, here’s to april!
